Meditation is one of the ways my hypnotherapist is using to try and relieve my anxiety and some of my symptoms. I use the app Headspace to guide part of the meditation, but I also have to do set visualisations that are more tailored to my needs. Meditation is a great way to help manage a whole range of problems, diagnoses and symptoms, from anxiety to pain management to motivation and everything in between. There are so many different techniques to help manage almost anything.

It’s not easy when you first start to meditate. Your mind wants to be free and engaged in things, it’s not used to being still. You may find your mind wanders off, or you feel some discomfort, but this is only temporary.

The key to meditation is to allow your thoughts to be there, but not to engage them. This will just make things worse. You should acknowledge them, know that they are there, but then forget about them. Don’t get caught up in thought.

This is a pinnable image to share/pin to Pinterest. The background photo is a cactus in a terracotta pot. There is a light blue overlay across the photo which gives it a blue tint. The foreground contains dark grey text is the top-left corner which reads "Meditation".
